"Through a glass darkly"

The Lib Dem group at County Hall has pressed the Conservative administration to be more open and transparent by publishing more information and by making decisions more openly.

For example, we have asked for the Joint Neighbourhood Survey for 2009/10, which was undertaken by the County Council with Surrey Police, to be published in full on the County Council's website.

The Council and the Police arrange for independent researchers to carry out quarterly telephone surveys of Surrey residents. We believe that the results of the survey which contain the views of Surrey residents should be published in full.

The County Council spends £35,000 per year of Council Taxpayers money on these surveys, so it is right for the results to be made readily available to everyone.
