George Potter is the county councillor for Burpham and Merrow (Guildford East division).
George is also a Guildford Borough Councillor for Burpham ward, where he lives. He was elected to Guildford Borough Council in May 2019, where he spearheaded the sucessful push to get the council to declare a climate emergency and to commit to a goal of becoming a carbon neutral borough by 2030, and where he has a particular focus on housing issues.
A University of Surrey graduate who's lived in Guildford since 2009, George works as a software developer as his day job. He is active in the community and led the campaign against the closure of Boxgrove Sure Start children's centre.
George is working hard to help residents and is determined to stand up for local people, saying: "I want to see the return of neighbourhood policing; real action on traffic problems, plus proper road and pavement repairs; and a council that listens to and supports communities rather than ignoring them."
