Angela Goodwin was elected as Surrey County Councillor for Guildford South-West in May 2021. She was also elected Guildford Borough Councillor (GBC) for Onslow in 2023 and serves on the executive as Lead Councillor for Engagement and Customer Services.

Angela and her late husband David, who was also an experienced GBC and Surrey County Councillor, first moved to Guildford in December 1995. Their daughter, who is now in her early twenties, has special needs.

As a County Councillor, Angela Goodwin is also Vice Chair of the Adult & Health Select Committee. The role reflects her particular interest in Social Care; making sure vulnerable people such as the elderly, people with learning difficulties and mental ill heath have a voice at Surrey County Council.

She is also a Trustee of the Caleb Lovejoy Almshouses in Guildford and a member of the Guildford Access Group.

In any spare time, Angela enjoys spending time with her family, swimming and travelling.
