School Specials Update

Following on from the various Focus Groups and the On-line Survey, Surrey County Council will be presenting their initial conclusions and options at four open Area Meetings for Parents, Head Teachers and local Councillors.
These will be held as follows:
- South West Area - Guildford and Waverley - 18.30, Monday 14 June, George Abbot School, Woodruff Avenue, Guildford;
- North East Area - Spelthorne, Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell - 18.30, Tuesday 15 June, Esher C of E High School, More Lane, Esher;
- North West Area - Surrey Heath, Runnymede, Woking - 18.30, Wednesday 16 June, Fullbrook School, Selsdon Road, New Haw, Addlestone;
- East Area - Tandridge, Reigate & Banstead, Mole Valley - 18.30, Monday 21 June, Reigate School, Pendleton Road, Reigate.
At these meetings the project team will discuss the concerns raised by parents and by schools, the impact on admissions and places and the possible options for the way forward.
It is not yet clear what these options will be, but the indications are that it is hoped to have some form of paid-for service.
Those affected are encouraged to attend their local meeting and to make sure that their children's schools are making use of the information sent to them by the project team.
